It’s a District 5-4A championship for the Krum Bobcats after a dominant offensive showing in last Friday’s 70-36 win at Farmersville. The Bobcats piled up 680 yards of total offense. 366 were through the air and 314 on the ground. In one of their most complete performances of the season.
Running back Will Holland rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Elijah Guerrero threw for 349 yards and four scores. Krum took control with a 35-point second quarter and never looked back.
The Bobcats improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in district play, clinching at least a share of the district title. To win it outright, they’ll need to defeat Bonham at home Friday. The Bobcats have already secured the top playoff seed in the Division II bracket, holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over second-place Sanger. Kickoff for senior night against 0-9 Bonham is set for 7 p.m.
In volleyball, the Lady Bobcats advanced to the area round of the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs after sweeping Benbrook in last Thursday’s bi-district match. Krum, now 23-16 overall, will face Brock at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Saginaw Boswell High School.
