No. 7 Krum Bobcats boys basketball opens its postseason run Monday in the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs, facing Benbrook in the opening round. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Keller Central High School.

Krum enters the matchup 28-5 overall after completing a perfect 14-0 run through District 7-4A to claim the district championship. The Bobcats closed the regular season last Tuesday with a 93-42 win over Castleberry. Benbrook finished 20-13 overall out of District 8-4A.

With a win, Krum could set up a potential Top 10 showdown in the area round against the winner of Glen Rose and No. 9 Lubbock Liberty, later this week.

The Lady Bobcats’ season also concluded in the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs. Krum advanced to the area round after a 73-20 victory over Benbrook in the opening round but saw its season end with a 66-25 loss to No. 3 Brock. The Lady Bobcats finished the season 20-17 overall.
