The road to Austin continues Thursday afternoon as the Aledo Bearcats return to postseason action in the Regional Finals against the El Paso Americas Trail Blazers in a best-of-three series at Midland Legacy High School.
First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for Noon, with the NTX Varsity Sports pregame show beginning at 11:45am from the Hiley Mazda Broadcast Table. Game 2 will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. A winner-take-all Game 3, if necessary, is scheduled for Saturday due to Aledo graduation ceremonies on Friday.
Aledo enters the Regional Finals at 38-4 overall after another dominant season that included an undefeated 10-0 district championship run. The Bearcats have continued that momentum throughout the postseason, opening the playoffs with a perfect 6-0 record while chasing a second consecutive trip to Austin.
On the opposite side, El Paso Americas arrives at 27-8 overall after finishing 11-1 in district play and navigating a challenging playoff bracket to reach the Regional Finals. The Trail Blazers are 6-2 in postseason play and now stand just one series away from the State Semi-Finals.
The stakes could not be higher. The winner of this series advances to the State Semi-Final round, the final gateway before the UIL State Championship in Austin.
For Aledo, the postseason journey carries extra weight as the Bearcats attempt to defend their 5A Division I State Championship after capturing the title during the 2024-25 season. With another deep playoff run underway, the Bearcats now face one of their toughest tests yet against a battle-tested El Paso Americas squad.
