Aledo Seeks Series Win at Paschal Tonight
One win stands between the Aledo Bearcats and another trip deeper into the UIL playoffs.
The defending UIL 5A Division I State Champions head to Fort Worth tonight for Game 2 of their Area Round playoff series against the Paschal Panthers, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Paschal. The NTX Varsity Sports pregame show begins live at 7:15 p.m.
Aledo enters tonight holding a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series after taking Game 1, improving the Bearcats to 3-0 in postseason play.
Paschal, meanwhile, enters tonight facing elimination for the first time this postseason after falling to 2-1 in playoff action.
Both programs earned district championships during the regular season and arrived in the playoffs with momentum. Aledo dominated District 5-5A with a perfect 10-0 record, while Paschal captured the District 7-5A title with a 12-1 finish.
For Aledo, tonight represents another step in the challenge of defending last season’s state championship and returning to Austin once again.
The Bearcats have consistently shown why they remain one of the top teams in Region 1, but Paschal now has the urgency of keeping its season alive on its home field.
With a Regional Semi-Final berth on the line, tonight’s matchup is expected to bring postseason intensity from the first pitch to the final out.
If Paschal wins, the series will move to a winner-take-all Game 3. If Aledo wins, the Bearcats advance to the Regional Semi-Final Round.
