Listen Live: Aledo vs Denton Ryan Game 2
The Aledo Bearcats are one win away from moving on.
After opening the Bi-District Round with a 10-0 win over Denton Ryan in Game 1, Aledo returns tonight for Game 2 of the best-of-three series. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. Fans can listen live right here on NTX Varsity Sports.
Game 1 belonged to Aledo from the start. The Bearcats scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning, immediately setting the tone and putting Denton Ryan on its heels. From there, Aledo controlled the game with strong pitching, steady defense, and a lineup that continued to apply pressure until the UIL run rule ended the game in the bottom of the fifth.
Now, the Bearcats lead the series 1-0 and can punch their ticket to the Area Round with a win tonight.
Aledo enters Game 2 as the reigning 5A Division I State Champion and continues its push back toward the state championship stage. The Bearcats went 10-0 in district play and carried that same championship standard into Game 1.
For Denton Ryan, tonight is about response. Just last week, the Raiders believed their season was over. Uniforms had been turned in, the chapter appeared closed, and then the bracket shifted. Now, they are back in the postseason, but after dropping Game 1, they enter tonight facing elimination.
That makes Game 2 simple: Aledo is playing to advance. Denton Ryan is playing to keep its season alive.
With rivalry energy, playoff pressure, and a trip to the Area Round on the line, tonight has everything you want from Texas high school postseason baseball.
