The Malakoff Tigers have already clinched a playoff berth, but Friday’s regular-season finale against Winnsboro carries major seeding implications. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.

Malakoff extended its winning streak to four games with a 38-27 road victory at Mount Vernon last Friday. The Tigers are now 6-3 overall and 4-1 in District 7-3A, continuing their offensive surge with four straight games scoring at least 38 points.

While Malakoff can no longer catch Commerce for the district’s top seed, a win over Winnsboro would secure the No. 2 seed and likely a home game to open the Class 3A Division I playoffs. Winnsboro enters the matchup 8-1 overall and 4-1 in district play.

On the volleyball court, the Lady Tigers’ season came to a close last week with a loss to Troup in the opening round of the Class 3A Division II playoffs. Malakoff finished the 2025 campaign with a 30-9 record.
