Lady Tiger basketball wrapped up play over the weekend at the Frankston Tournament as the team looked to regain momentum during the non-district portion of the schedule.

Malakoff entered the tournament with a 5-7 record, searching for consistency after dropping a 53-37 decision to Brook Hill prior to the event. With the tournament now complete, the focus shifts to a critical stretch of December district action that could help set the tone for the rest of the season.

The Lady Tigers open District 15-3A play on Tuesday with a road game at Mineola before returning home Friday to face Grand Saline. That two-game swing serves as an important benchmark before district play pauses and resumes after the holiday break.

On the boys side, Malakoff is coming off action in the Great East Texas Shootout, held across multiple sites in the Tyler area. At one point during the event, the Tigers stood at 2-4 as the program continues to work football crossover athletes into the rotation and build chemistry.

The Tigers remain in non-district play this week, traveling to Blooming Grove on Tuesday before hosting Lone Oak on Friday.

Both Malakoff programs continue to use this stretch of the season to establish rhythm and depth as district competition approaches in full.
