Malakoff Lady Tiger softball is off to a strong start this season. The team wrapped up its final non-district tournament this past weekend at Tyler Legacy, entering the week 9-4. Senior Alabama Anding, a signee to Tyler Junior College, is off to a torrid start with four home runs and a .393 batting average. District 15-3A play begins Tuesday at Edgewood, followed by a home game Friday against Eustace.
Malakoff baseball competed in the Axtell Tournament over the weekend, reaching 6-2 at one point. The program is led by senior outfielder Tyler Wallace, a three-time all-district performer who has signed with Sul Ross State University. The Tigers will play their final non-district tournament Thursday in Athens.
The Malakoff track season is underway, opening Thursday in Eustace. The Tigers will host their own meet this Thursday.
