Malakoff — Malakoff fell 50-31 to Commerce in District 7-3A opener Friday. The Tigers trailed 38-3 but scored 21 unanswered points before Commerce held on. Malakoff is now 2-3 overall and 0-1 in district play. District home opener Friday against Mineola. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
Lady Tigers volleyball (25-8, 5-2 District 15-3A) split last week with Quitman and Mineola. They play at Grand Saline Tuesday. Cross country competes at District 15-3A meet Tuesday at Quitman.
