One of the top non-district matchups in Texas takes place Friday in Palestine when undefeated Mildred visits undefeated and state-ranked Palestine Westwood. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Eagles are 4-0, while Westwood is also 4-0 and ranked No. 6 in the Class 3A Division I poll.
Mildred stayed unbeaten last week with a 41-18 win over Clarksville. Junior running back Trent Harris rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns as the Eagles piled up 332 yards on the ground.
The Lady Eagles began District 21-2A play Tuesday against Cross Roads and face Neches in a non-district matchup Friday. Mildred started the week 19-9. Last week, they swept Oakwood in their only match.
Cross country teams run Saturday at Troy.
