MILDRED, Texas — Jeff Callahan’s Eagles will put their 2-0 start on the line Friday night when they host Blooming Grove. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Mildred rolled past Rice 40-2 last week behind a punishing ground game that piled up 518 rushing yards on just 31 carries. Junior Trent Harris led the charge with 271 yards on only seven touches, scoring twice.
Blooming Grove enters 0-2 after losses to Palmer and Riesel.
In volleyball, the Lady Eagles carry a 16-9 record into this week of non-district action. They faced sixth-ranked Palmer on Tuesday and will travel Friday to play Trinidad. Last week, Mildred split its matches, defeating Kemp and falling to Groesbeck.
