It’s time to wrap up Mildred’s 2025 football season. It was another successful year for head coach Jeff Callahan’s program. The Eagles finished 9-3 and placed second in District 8-2A. Mildred made the playoffs for the third consecutive season and advanced to the area round for the second straight year.

Mildred defeated Dawson 40-14 in the opening round, but the season ended in the Division I Region II area round with a 27-14 loss to Hamilton.

The good news for Mildred fans: key parts of this high-powered offense return. Junior quarterback Luke McKendree threw for more than 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns. Cutting down on turnovers will be a goal, but his leadership is invaluable.

Running back Trenton Harris finished with more than 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns in just 11 games.

A number of young players also return on a defense that forced 21 turnovers. Indeed, hopes are high for 2026.
