Mildred baseball and softball were busy Tuesday, each playing doubleheaders at La Poyner to accommodate the local community during a time of need.
Lady Eagles softball has been dominating District 20-2A play. The team started this week 11-9-2 overall but 8-0 in league action, tied for first with Frankston. Last week, Mildred crushed Trinidad 14-3 on March 24, followed by a 19-4 victory over Avalon. The Lady Eagles have scored in double figures in 10 straight games, extending their winning streak to 10.
The Eagles baseball team also stayed hot, starting the week 15-3 overall and 3-1 in district play. Mildred was on a four-game winning streak, defeating Avalon 15-2 on Friday and topping Palmer 10-7 in a non-district game Saturday.
Mildred track will compete at the district meet Wednesday and Thursday in Italy, while the golf team recently played in its district tournament Monday and Tuesday in Athens.
