It’s time to start playing some football. Jeff Callahan’s Eagles have gone through the work of fall camp, and now the 2026 season opens on the road Friday night at Palmer. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Eagles are returning to the Class 3A Division II ranks after spending the previous two seasons in Class 2A Division I.
Mildred went through its second scrimmage last Thursday at Iola. The Eagles finished 9-3 in 2025 and should get a good test in the opener. Palmer went 8-3 and made the Class 3A playoffs last season.
Lady Eagles volleyball is “roughing it” this weekend. Beginning Thursday and running through Saturday, Mildred will be at South Padre Island for the Volley by the Beach event.
Before that, the Lady Eagles played Tuesday at Kemp. With a healthier lineup, Mildred bounced back for a strong week and a solid showing at the North Hopkins Tournament.
The Lady Eagles entered this week at 9-11.
