Mineral Wells has officially wrapped up its 2025 football season, one that didn’t unfold the way head coach Cody Worrell envisioned, yet still produced a late push into the postseason.

The Rams were forced to navigate most of the year without starting quarterback Brogan Sims, who suffered an early-season ankle injury. His return late in the campaign helped stabilize the offense and guide Mineral Wells to the final playoff berth out of District 3-4A after a crucial season-ending win over Burkburnett.

Mineral Wells’ playoff stay was brief, however, as the Rams fell to Glen Rose 48-34 in the Class 4A Division II Region I bi-district round. The Rams finished the season at 4-7.

Sims managed to contribute significantly despite the lost time, throwing for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns in just five games. Javon Jackson, who was pressed into action at quarterback during Sims’ absence, delivered a gutsy dual-threat season with more than 1,100 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns while also passing for 750 yards and eight scores.

On the recruiting front, keep an eye on standout receiver Jaidun Fisher. He closed the year with 962 receiving yards, 14 touchdowns and strong production as a return specialist. Worrell remains confident Fisher will see college opportunities develop heading into February’s signing period.
