Mineral Wells athletics has learned its district assignments for the next two years following the University Interscholastic League’s biannual realignment released Monday. The Rams will remain at the Class 4A Division II level, with separate districts for football and other sports.

For football, Mineral Wells will compete in 4-4A in Region I. The six-team district includes Bridgeport, Brock, Burkburnett, Graham and Iowa Park. Head coach Cody Worrell’s program will also play a five-game non-district schedule against Vernon, Pilot Point, Andrews (played in Abilene), Carrollton R.L. Turner and Boyd.

For other sports, Mineral Wells remains in District 6-4A in Region I, a familiar grouping. The six-team district features Rams athletics alongside Brock, Brownwood, Glen Rose, Graham and Stephenville.

Updates on basketball and soccer schedules will be provided next week.
