Mineral Wells baseball is headed back to the Class 4A Division I Region I semifinals after winning its area playoff series against Decatur.
The Rams clinched the series Saturday with a 7-4 victory in the deciding game. Mineral Wells opened the series with a 13-3 win before Decatur answered with a 7-5 victory in Game 2 to force the finale.
Mineral Wells now advances to face Hereford in the regional semifinals. The best-of-three series will be played in Clyde. Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by Game 2 at 1 p.m. Friday. A third game, if necessary, will follow. The Rams enter the series with a 20-13-2 record, while Hereford is 20-13.
The Lady Rams softball season came to an end this past weekend in the Class 4A Division I Region I semifinals. Dumas swept the series with 16-4 and 14-0 victories. Despite the loss, Mineral Wells completed a strong postseason run that included a first-round victory over Wolfforth Frenship Memorial and a sweep of Decatur in the area round.
The Lady Rams finish the 2026 season with a 25-10 record.
