The boys and girls soccer seasons wrapped up this past Thursday in Palo Pinto County with the Class 4A Division I Region I opening-round matches at Lubbock Cooper High School.
The Lady Rams fell to West Plains of Amarillo in a heartbreaking penalty-kick loss, 4-3, after a 0-0 tie through regulation and overtime. Mineral Wells finishes the season 7-14-1. The boys Rams lost 6-2 to Dumas, concluding their season at 11-7.
Mineral Wells baseball begins District 6-4A play this week with a home-and-home series against Glen Rose, hosting Tuesday and traveling Friday. The Rams enter the week 10-3-1 overall. Recently, they went 2-2 at a tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and last week defeated North Crowley 11-2 but fell to Decatur 8-2.
