FORT WORTH, Texas — Paradise fans showed once again why their community spirit is second to none.
The Panthers won last week’s NTX Varsity Spirit Showdown, topping Eagle Mountain in the fan voting contest sponsored by Kroger and supported by KFWR 95.9 The Ranch, KTFW 92.1 Hank FM, and KOME/KTWF K-HITS 95.5. The victory advanced Paradise in the competition and kept the school in the running for the $3,000 Kroger donation awarded at the end of the season.
The Spirit Showdown win came during Homecoming week in Paradise, where energy and pride filled the stands, the parade route, and the voting totals.
On the field, Eagle Mountain came away with a 34-27 victory in the final seconds, but Paradise fans carried the day off the field with overwhelming support. The Panthers dropped to No. 5 in the Class 3A Division I rankings following the loss, but they looked to bounce back quickly with a district matchup against Millsap this week.
The contest continues each week with new schools across North Texas competing for fan votes, but Paradise already proved it has one of the most passionate fan bases in the region.
