Both the Lady Panthers and Panthers basketball teams were in action Tuesday as they continued their pursuit of Class 3A Division II state championships.
The sixth-ranked Lady Panthers faced Hooks in the Region II semifinals at Bonham. Paradise entered the matchup at 31-4 overall. The Lady Panthers advanced to the regional semifinals with a convincing 56-31 victory over Commerce in the area round last Friday.
With a win Tuesday, the Lady Panthers would advance to the regional finals for the second consecutive season, where they would face either District 10-3A rival Valley View or Quitman.
On the boys side, the second-ranked Panthers opened postseason play Tuesday in the Region II bracket against Village Tech of Duncanville at Eagle Mountain High School. Paradise entered the game at 31-2, while Village Tech stood at 23-7.
A Panthers win would send Paradise into the area round to face either Chisum or Blue Ridge, who also met Tuesday.
