Paradise athletics will remain at the Class 3A Division I level for the next two years, the University Interscholastic League announced Monday. Football and other sports will compete in separate districts.
For football, the Panthers will play in a five-team District 4-3A in Region I with Boyd, Peaster, Bowie and Vernon. Head coach Tommy Koch’s program will play a six-game non-district schedule against Ponder, Godley, Graham, Fort Worth Christian and Krum.
Other sports remain in familiar territory. Paradise moves back to Region I after competing in Region II for the past two years. Panther athletics will share District 8-3A with Boyd, Callisburg, Pilot Point, S&S Consolidated, Valley View and Whitesboro. The new districts take effect in August with the start of volleyball.
Meanwhile, second-ranked boys basketball and sixth-ranked girls basketball continue their push for District 10-3A titles this week.
