SPRINGTOWN – The Springtown Porcupines (5-0) opened District 5-4A play last Thursday with a 49-20 win over the Fort Worth Southwest Raiders (1-4).
Junior quarterback Kaine Hill led the way, throwing for 168 yards and three touchdowns while adding another score on the ground.
Springtown is ranked No. 9 in the Class 4A Division I state poll and will host Carter-Riverside for its homecoming game Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Porcupine Stadium.
In volleyball, the Lady Porcupines (33-8, 5-2) swept Lake Worth on Tuesday and will face Decatur on Friday. A win would move Springtown into a tie for second place in the District 7-4A standings.
The Porcupine cross country teams will compete in the District 7-4A meet next Wednesday in Decatur.
