Springtown basketball is turning the page as District 7-4A play gets underway, with both the boys and girls programs looking to reset after challenging non-district stretches.

Pojo boys basketball wrapped up play earlier this week at the Bridgeport Tournament as it continues to search for traction in the early part of the season. It has been a tough start for the Pines, who entered the tournament hoping to snap an eight-game losing streak. While wins have been hard to come by, the program remains focused on growth, using each game as a chance to improve and prepare for the grind of district competition.

That next phase begins Saturday afternoon when Springtown opens District 7-4A play against Lake Worth. The district slate offers a clean slate for the Pines, with an opportunity to establish momentum and confidence moving forward.

On the girls’ side, Lady Pines basketball spent the holiday week competing in the Eula Tournament. Springtown carried an 8-8 record into the event, but urgency is building as district play continues. Prior to the Christmas break, the Lady Pines dropped their first two District 7-4A games, falling to Krum 44-40 in a closely contested matchup before suffering a 59-32 loss to Burkburnett.

With district play resuming, Springtown will look to tighten execution and regain rhythm as the Lady Pines also take on Lake Worth Saturday afternoon. With both programs now aligned on the district schedule, the focus shifts squarely toward league standings and postseason positioning.

Meanwhile, the spring sports calendar is beginning to take shape. The Springtown soccer season opens Friday, with the Lady Pines hosting their own tournament that will run through Saturday. It marks the official start of a new campaign and provides early competition for a program eager to build momentum.

The boys soccer team will follow shortly after, opening its season Monday with a matchup against Sanger.

As winter sports move deeper into district play and soccer season gets underway, Springtown athletics enters a busy and pivotal stretch across multiple programs.
