With winter weather expected later this week, Springtown ISD moved proactively to adjust several schedules across basketball and soccer. The Pojo and Lady Pines basketball teams shifted their District 7-4A home games against Burkburnett from Friday to Thursday to avoid travel issues.
On the court, the Lady Pines dropped a defensive battle to Krum on Tuesday, 27-22. Springtown entered the week at 12-13 overall and 3-5 in district play. The boys faced a tough challenge against district-leading and No. 7-ranked Krum, falling 76-40. Pojo basketball is now 5-18 overall and 1-5 in District 7-4A action.
Soccer scheduling remains fluid. Springtown was originally set to play a Friday doubleheader against THESA, but those matches have been postponed. Officials availability will determine when the games can be rescheduled. Fans are encouraged to check the school website and social media for updates.
On Tuesday, Springtown soccer faced Mineral Wells. The Lady Pines suffered a 1-0 loss, dropping to 5-2-1, while the boys fell 2-0 and now stand at 5-3.
