Winter weather forced Springtown athletics to adjust its basketball schedule this week. Instead of both the boys and girls teams playing at Lake Worth on Tuesday, those games were moved to Thursday, conditions permitting, due to school district closures.

Soccer schedules remain intact for now, with both teams slated to play Friday. There has been no official word on the status of Tuesday’s contests, an important note with district play set to begin next week.

Lady Pines soccer is 5-2-1 and plays host to Bowie on Friday. Springtown opens District 8-4A play Tuesday at home against Eagle Mountain.

The Pojo boys soccer team is 5-3 and shares the same schedule, hosting Bowie on Friday before opening district play Tuesday against Eagle Mountain.

Lady Pines basketball is 12-14 overall and 3-6 in District 7-4A. Following Thursday’s matchup with Lake Worth, Springtown returns home to face Bridgeport on Friday.

The boys basketball team is 5-19 overall and 1-6 in district play and follows the same schedule as the girls with Lake Worth and Bridgeport.
