Springtown High School will remain in Class 4A Division I for football in the upcoming UIL realignment cycle, according to cutoff numbers released last week. The news likely came as no surprise to district officials.
Springtown reported an enrollment of 1,170.5 earlier this year, up from 1,134 in 2024. The football classification applies only to the program, while other sports compete in separate districts.
Springtown football is concluding its run in District 5-4A alongside Decatur and several Fort Worth ISD schools. Other sports programs will finish the spring season in District 7-4A, competing against Krum, Decatur, Eagle Mountain, Bridgeport, Castleberry, Lake Worth and Burkburnett.
The UIL is scheduled to announce new district alignments for all Springtown athletics on Feb. 2, providing ample time for preparation for the 2026-27 cycle.
