Basketball season is winding down for the Springtown girls and boys teams.

The Lady Pines wrapped up their season Tuesday with a 43-30 loss on the road at Eagle Mountain. They also fell to No. 1 Decatur last Friday, 61-18. Springtown closes the season at 14-17 overall and 5-9 in District 7-4A play.

The boys team has two games remaining, including a home matchup Friday against District 7-4A champion and No. 7 Krum. The Pines fell Tuesday at Eagle Mountain, 63-29, and enter the week 6-23 overall and 2-10 in district action.

Springtown soccer also had a busy week. Lady Pines soccer had a bye Friday and went 7-4-1 overall and 1-2 in District 4-4A. They lost 2-1 at Castleberry on Tuesday and fell to district leader Lake Dallas last Friday.

The boys soccer team is 6-5-1 overall and 0-2-1 in District 8-4A. They played Castleberry Tuesday, losing 1-0, and drew 0-0 with Lake Dallas on Friday. Like the girls, the boys have a bye Friday.
