Pojo baseball is in the middle of its bye week in District 7-4A play. Last week, the Pines swept Eagle Mountain, 10-1 and 10-5.
This week, Pojo faces a pair of non-district games against strong Class 3A teams. Springtown fell to Iowa Park, 3-1, on Tuesday and plays at Paradise on Saturday. Both of those teams are leading their respective 3A districts. The Pines are 16-4-2 overall and lead District 7-4A at 8-0.
Lady Pines softball has clinched a playoff berth, securing it Tuesday with a 13-0 rout of Bridgeport. Earlier, they defeated Lake Worth 10-0 on Monday. Springtown stands 17-10 overall and 7-2 in District 7-4A. Lady Pines play Friday on the road at Castleberry and remain two games behind district leader Burkburnett. Springtown will compete in the Division I 4A playoff bracket and has hit 14 home runs this season.
Finally, Springtown recently hosted the District 7-4A track meet Wednesday and Thursday. The school will also host the qualifiers for the area meet next Thursday.
