A season of high expectations for Lady Pines volleyball is in its second week. Springtown is currently competing in the Top of Texas Tournament hosted by Farmersville High School. The tournament began Thursday and runs through Saturday.
The Lady Pines were 8-5 entering the tournament. They split their home tri-match with Wichita Falls Memorial and Keller Fossil Ridge this past Tuesday. Prior to that, Springtown competed in the demanding Wimberley Tournament.
Speaking of high expectations, the same can be said for Springtown football.
The Porcupines completed their second scrimmage Thursday against Wichita Falls Memorial. Now, attention turns to next Friday’s season opener at Brock. It should be a great matchup, with more on that next week.
Once again, the Porcupines will be led by senior quarterback Kaine Hill. He has thrown for nearly 5,000 yards over his first two seasons.
