Friday will feature one of the top — if not the top — matchups in Texas high school football during the opening week of the 2026 season. And it doesn’t matter that it’s at the Class 4A level.
Springtown travels to Brock for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Parker County. Pojo is ranked No. 3 in the Class 4A Division I state poll, while Brock is No. 6 in the Class 4A Division II poll. Both teams have the talent to make deep playoff runs and compete for a state championship.
Springtown is led by senior quarterback Kane Hill, who returns for his third season. Hill will cross the 5,000-yard career passing mark in this game.
Brock is led by senior quarterback Holt Frazier, who threw 50 touchdown passes last season.
And the best thing of all? The outcome doesn’t impact either team’s goals, but it is definitely worth the watch. It should be a dandy.
Lady Pines volleyball was 16-7 entering this weekend’s Nocona Tournament, which began Thursday and runs through Saturday. Springtown swept Paschal this past Tuesday.
