Pojo baseball is red hot, riding a 10-game winning streak as the Pines wrap up their District 7-4A series Friday at Bridgeport. Springtown won the series opener Tuesday at home, 11-3, and enters the matchup at 13-3 overall and undefeated at 5-0 in district play. The Pines will follow up with a Saturday non-district game at Mineral Wells.
Lady Pines softball is also on a roll, winning five straight after a narrow 2-1 victory Tuesday at Eagle Mountain. Springtown, 15-9 overall and 5-1 in District 7-4A, trails district leader Burkburnett by just one game. The team enjoys a district bye Friday.
Thursday brought another highlight for Springtown athletics as the boys and girls track teams hosted the well-attended Pojo Relays. After a week off for Spring Break, track teams are gearing up for one more potential meet next week, with the District 7-4A championship set to be held at Springtown in two weeks.
