WEATHERFORD, Texas — The 2025 football season begins Friday for the Roos with a road trip to the mid-cities to face L.D. Bell. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Pennington Field in Bedford.

Head coach Aubrey Sims looks to guide Weatherford to a rebound after a 2-8 finish in 2024. The Roos wrapped up fall camp last week with their second scrimmage, against Burleson Centennial.

Like Weatherford, L.D. Bell is also looking for improvement after a 2-8 season in 2024. One of the Blue Raiders’ wins came in a 23-21 victory over the Roos in last year’s opener.

In volleyball, the Lady Roos are 11-6 through the first two weeks of the season. They went 5-2 at the Granbury tournament this past weekend and will host Abilene Wylie on Tuesday.

Weatherford’s girls cross country team captured the team title at the Burleson Centennial Spartans Invitational over the weekend. Junior Remington Boone placed second overall.
