Weatherford’s Roos basketball teams resume District 3-6A play this week after their first district bye, facing a challenging schedule that could define their postseason chances.

The Roos boys are 16-8 overall but sit 0-2 in district play. They open this week at home Tuesday against No. 2-ranked North Crowley, fresh off a narrow 70-67 loss to Mansfield Legacy last Tuesday. The boys travel to Mansfield Lake Ridge Friday to close out the first half of the district season.

The Lady Roos face a similar uphill battle. The team is 18-7 overall but 0-4 in district games. They host No. 3 North Crowley Tuesday before traveling with the boys to Lake Ridge on Friday.

Soccer seasons are also underway. The Lady Roos remain unbeaten at 6-0-1 following the Brewer Tournament and host Arlington Heights Thursday. The boys are 2-3-1 after competing in the Keller Tournament and travel to Decatur Tuesday.
