Lady Roos basketball is off to a strong start, entering this week at 8-2. They played only one game last week, a 54-43 victory over Birdville. An early trend this season: seven of their wins have come by double digits. This week should provide a better gauge of how the season will unfold.
On Tuesday, the Lady Roos host Wichita Falls Legacy. Then Thursday through Saturday, they compete in the Granbury Tournament, facing teams including Saginaw and Midlothian.
Roos basketball sits at 4-1 at this point in the season, but December promises a busy schedule. Last week, Weatherford split a pair of games Monday and Tuesday, falling to Hurst L.D. Bell 77-54 before bouncing back with a 71-53 win over Cleburne.
The Roos open this week Tuesday against Venus, then join the Lady Roos at the Granbury Tournament, where they will face Everman, Arlington Lamar, Saginaw, and Granbury.
