Weatherford High School will remain in Class 6A for the next UIL realignment cycle, according to the classification cutoff numbers released last week. While the exact district placement remains to be determined, the school’s classification is secure.

Weatherford reported an average daily enrollment of 2,477 students, comfortably above the Class 6A threshold of 2,215. Notably, the floor for 6A dropped by 60 students this cycle. Unlike football-only classifications at other schools, this designation applies to all varsity sports.

Currently, Weatherford competes in District 3-6A alongside Crowley, North Crowley, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield High, Mansfield Lake Ridge and Saginaw Boswell.

The UIL is scheduled to announce new district alignments for all Weatherford athletic programs on Feb. 2, giving schools ample time to prepare for the 2026 cycle.
