Roos baseball will learn its playoff hopes over the final two weeks of the season. They are locked in a battle with both Saginaw Boswell and Mansfield.

Weatherford starts the week 18-10 overall and 5-3 in District 3-6A, tied with Mansfield for the fourth playoff spot and one game behind Boswell. The Roos and Pioneers meet this week, Tuesday in Saginaw and Friday at home.

Last week, the Roos were swept by district leader Mansfield Lake Ridge, 2-1 and 5-0. They beat Arlington Martin in a Saturday non-district game, 9-7.

Lady Roos softball is ticketed to the Class 6A playoffs. They enter the final week 13-13 overall and 6-4 in District 3-6A.

They finish this week Tuesday at home against Saginaw Boswell and Friday at Mansfield.

Last week, Weatherford blew out North Crowley, 14-1, and lost to district leader Mansfield Lake Ridge, 12-4.

At the District 3-6A track meet last week at Boswell, Remington Boone won the 3,200 meters and Braelee Gilbert won the discus. Both will advance to the area meet later this week.
