New Weatherford head football coach Marshall Williams is continuing to build his coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season.
Williams has used social media to recruit coaches for openings on both sides of the ball. On offense, Weatherford is seeking offensive line and wide receivers coaches, while Williams described the defensive openings as based on “best fit.”
The new Roos coach faces a busy offseason after being hired in mid-April, leaving less time than usual for a traditional transition into the role. Weatherford will begin fall workouts Aug. 3 and will take part in two scrimmages instead of one before the regular season.
One of the top returning offensive weapons for the Kangaroos will be rising senior wide receiver Jakob Hemphill. Hemphill totaled more than 1,000 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2025 season and earned first-team all-district honors.
