The Weatherford High School Lady Roos soccer team is set for the postseason, facing Trophy Club Byron Nelson in the Class 6A Region I Division II opening round Thursday at 6 p.m. at Kangaroo Stadium. Weatherford enters the matchup 16-2-3, including a warmup game against Arlington Heights on Monday, while Byron Nelson is 12-7-3.

The boys Roos soccer team finished its season at 3-14-3 overall and 1-10-1 in District 3-6A play.

Weatherford baseball continues its strong stretch, winning 10 of its last 12 games, including a District 3-6A opening-week sweep of Crowley, 14-2 and 8-1. This week, the Roos host Mansfield Legacy Tuesday before traveling Thursday for the second game of the series. Legacy enters the week 15-4 overall and 2-0 in district play.

The Lady Roos softball team has won four consecutive games and started District 3-6A play 3-0. They are 11-8 overall after last week’s 5-4 victory over Legacy and an 11-0 rout of North Crowley. Weatherford faces back-to-back road contests this week at Mansfield Lake Ridge on Monday and Saginaw Boswell on Tuesday.
