Weatherford ISD has finalized its search for a new athletics director, hiring Scott Curran late Monday. Curran spent the past three years as assistant AD at Northwest ISD. His arrival clears the way for Weatherford to begin its search for a new head football coach, following the departure of former AD and head coach Aubrey Sims on March 6 to take the same roles at Alvarado.

In other sports news, the Lady Roos soccer season came to an end last Tuesday in the Class 6A Division II Region I area playoff round. Weatherford fell 3-1 to Midland, finishing the season with an 18-3-3 record.

Baseball returns to District 3-6A action this week for Weatherford. The Roos host North Crowley Tuesday for the series opener and travel Thursday for the return game. Weatherford enters the series at 15-8 overall and 3-1 in district play. Last week, the Roos split a non-district series with Rockwall, losing 4-1 and winning 4-2, and also topped Waxahachie Saturday, 8-4.
